Section 9 of the log book will be completed and given back to you. This section is for you to post back to DVLA, Swansea, SA99 1BD. You will then get your cash and our agent will be on his way.
That is it, simple and straight forward, your old scrap car will be brought straight back to our fully approved depolution centre were we will recycle as much as we can from the car and the rest will be environmentally disposed of in accordance with Government guide lines. I have lost the keys, is it a problem ?
As long as we have the permission from the legal owner we can gain access and collect the vehicle.
The vehicle has stood for a long time
No matter how long the vehicle has been standing we can still collect. If the battery is flat or the car will not start then this make the collection time a bit longer than usual.
I want to scrap my car but does it need to be complete?
No the vehicle does not have to be complete but ideally it will need to be mobile so we can get it on the truck. Please let us know the state of the vehicle prior to collection.
If I scrap my car when should I notify the DVLA?
When our agent comes to collect your vehicle he will fill section 9 (the yellow slip) and give you this back. You will then need to post this to DVLA, Swansea, SA99 1BD (recorded post is advised)
What do I need to do before and after my car salvage collection?
Before we come to collect your car you need to ensure that all contents and valuables have been cleared, if you want to keep the tax disc please remove this, you will be able to return this to the DVLA for a refund.
